Anyone who works with children is likely to
encounter students with a variety of special needs. This course will
prepare participants to accommodate children with special needs in
an integrated setting, or to design and implement a yoga program to
meet the special needs of a particular student or population. This
course will include an overview of common developmental, learning,
and emotional special needs. Participants will understand how and
why yoga can benefit children with these challenges. This course
complements the “Yoga for Children” course by providing practical
approaches and theoretical background specific to children with
special needs. “Yoga for Children” is not a prerequisite for this
course.
