The Yamas and Niyamas

This workshop will explore the first two limbs of Patanjali’s eight-fold path. The yamas and niyamas are often described as the ethical or moral guidelines of yoga. Learn what they are, how they relate to your yoga practice and teaching, and the ways they can inform how you live and act in the world. This session will involve lecture and discussion of the Sutras and yoga philosophy, and there will also be time for reflection and yoga practices (asana, meditation) to help you deepen your understanding of these important restraints and observances.
